I walked and thought / thought not

202621 colour screenprintEdition of 1240 x 50cm

My work, my art ? What is it ? I don’t know ! It’s the thing I do. The important thing for me now is to use my art to fight against the rise of fascism. Not to give them an inch. People think my work is about love, it is ! The fight for justice is the greatest love of all.

I think my education wasn’t at art college, it was the books I read, the music I listened to, the friends I made. These are your o levels and a levels and degrees, the love you give and receive. Your marriage, your children, your grandchildren. What are awards compared to life’s real blessings ?

About I walked and thought / thought not

“Hampstead Heath is not a part of London I am familiar with but my friend Andy lives nearby and walks there every day. I spent a morning with him covering a lot of the Heath and this piece is the result of thoughts from that morning.”
