Heathbound: art inspired by Hampstead Heath

Jon Mackay’s Heathbound: two walkers on a sunlit path across the Heath at dusk, foxgloves in the foreground and the London skyline beneath a full moon.

HEATHBOUND is an annual exhibition of art inspired by Hampstead Heath - as fresh as a skinny dip in the Ladies’ Pond on a winter’s day.

Heathbound 2026 ran from 16 - 27 September at historic Burgh House, bringing together seventeen artists working across painting, embroidery, photography, illustration, paper-cut, printmaking, collage, miniature and sculpture. From shimmering hand-gilded views of the ponds tracing the River Fleet to relief sculptures of ancient oak, chewing gum paintings to tiny dancers in Diaghilev-inspired moth costumes, the inaugural show was one to remember.

A proportion of sales went to Hampstead Heath conservation charity Heath Hands, so every work bought also helped look after the Heath that inspired it.
