Artists 2026

Lizaveta Khikhlushka

I’m a visual artist based in London, originally from Minsk, Belarus. My work explores how places become personal, focusing on nostalgia, memory, and urban life. Through drawing, I transform cityscapes into intimate emotional landscapes.

My interest in cities is closely connected to my background in architecture. I studied Architecture at Gdansk University of Technology, where I developed a deep appreciation for the relationship between space and human experience.

Moving from Belarus to London and rebuilding my life here has strongly influenced my work. Drawing became a way of navigating unfamiliar places and creating new emotional connections to the city around me. In my project Feeling of Home, which I started in Minsk, I depicted places described by Belarusians living abroad, such as childhood homes, former workplaces, familiar window views, and other meaningful locations. Through this project, I explored how memories of specific streets, buildings, and landscapes can sustain a sense of home across distance. The final drawing in the series depicts my own home, acknowledging that it, too, exists now primarily through my memory.

Since 2020, I have exhibited my work internationally, including three solo exhibitions and numerous group shows across Europe. I received the Original Drawing Award at Art-Minsk 2021. Recent exhibitions include Maslenitsa at Battersea Arts Centre (London, 2026), Inferential at Luminoir Art Gallery (London, 2025), Obertura Carabanchel (Madrid, 2023), and the solo exhibition Panelnye at NCCA (Minsk, 2021).
